The Cameroon flag can be described as a tri colored flag with vertical strips of red, yellow and green, adorned with a star at its heart. The colors of the flag of Cameroon represent the pan African spirit. The current Cameroon flag was officially adopted in the year 1975, just three years after it became a unitary state. The star at the center of the Cameroon flag which is also known as the ĂŽstar of unity' is a five pointed one and is yellow in color. The color red in the Cameroonian national flag stands for unity where as the yellow and the green colors represent happiness and hope respectively.
