Florentine
WHAT IS IT?
The Florentine is a bi-weekly publication printed in English covering news, events, culture, politics, business, travel, food, sports, weather, etc., in and around the Florence area.

WHO IS THE TARGET AUDIENCE?
The target audience of The Florentine is the English-speaking community (American, British, Australian, and all other nationalities that may speak more English than Italian) who are living in, staying in, or visiting Florence and it’s surrounding areas. The Florentine intends to inform this community of current events in and around the Florence area.

The emphasis point is that the target audience is the entire English speaking community. This includes people living here for extended periods, but also short-term visitors.

WHAT MAKES THE FLORENTINE UNIQUE?
The Florentine does not intend to be just another guidebook.

The Florentine’s goal is to be a newspaper that provides up to date news and information in English thus offering the above-mentioned target community a way to actively participate in and “connect” with Florentine and Tuscan life and culture. As well as local and regional news and events, the paper will also offer articles and commentaries on daily living: from “understanding Italian politics”, to “how to go to a soccer game”, to “how, where and when to park a car”.

English speaking people living here are starving for this information. But, also, tourists, when visiting Florence want this same information. Until now, that service has not been provided, and The Florentine will fill that void.

WHERE TO FIND IT
The Florentine will be distributed throughout the City of Florence. It will be available to every family attending the International School, and will be found in bookstores, the American universities in Florence, internet cafes, health clubs, all major hotels in the central area, and other key reference points for the English speaking community. In addition, The Florentine will be handed out in person at major Piazzas throughout the city. The initial printings will be for 10,000 copies per issue.

WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THE FLORENTINE
As stated above, the target audience of The Florentine includes people living here for extended periods, but also short-term visitors. The Florentine will satisfy the “information” needs of this targeted audience, and it will also be the best way for you to reach this market with your advertising. So, if you have a desire to get messages to the very large English-speaking community of residents and visitors, The Florentine is by far the most effective and direct tool you will have.
