Liberal
Liberal
The Liberal magazine is devoted to a renaissance in liberal politics and the liberal arts.
First founded in 1822 by the Romantic poets Percy Shelley, Lord Byron and Leigh Hunt,
The Liberal seeks to regenerate liberalism and reinvigorate the public sphere.
Alongside reportage and political and economic analysis, we publish philosophical essays, poetry, music scores, photography and short fiction from around the world.

Contributors to the first twelve issues include Harold Bloom, Christopher Hitchens,
Helen Suzman, Ariel Dorfman, Al Alvarez, Martin Rees, Matthew Parris, Germaine Greer,
Wole Soyinka, Clive James, Julia Kristeva, Slavoj Žižek, Shirley Williams, Bryan Appleyard,
Elaine Showalter and Simon Sebag-Montefiore.
