"An education isn't how much you've committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you know and what you don't. It's knowing where to go find out what you need to know; and it's knowing how to use the information you get."
- William Feather

Welcome to the Belize's Ministry of Education's website. This is a place where we hope you will come when you need to find out what you need to know. It is a place designed to serve people from every facet of our society, the student who wants to know more about the PSE, the teacher who needs a new idea on how to help students understand fractions, the parent who is looking for scholarship information, the business person who wants more information on a school event he has been asked to donate towards. It is a place which will give you an accurate picture of what the Ministry of Education is, what it does, and what it is able to do.

The establishment of this site is based on a clear vision of Belize's national educational development articulated by Prime Minister, Hon Said Musa in his 1998, A New Education Charter for the 21st Century. The Prime Minister recognized the emerging global information infrastructure as a critical foundation for the future:

"Our proposed new Education Charter is based on the premise that our people have the capacity to seize the opportunities offered in a technologically advanced world. One overriding cause for educational optimism is the teaching and learning breakthrough which is represented by the information and electronic revolution. The key to survival in the modern world is access to knowledge and information."
