The Nigeria Flag , officially adopted on 1 st October, 1960, represents the nation of Nigeria. The Nigeria Flag was adopted after the independence of Nigeria from the colonial rule of Great Britain. The Nigeria Flag consists of three equal bands of green, white and green. The three tri-colored bands of the Nigerian Flag are arranged vertically to each other with the white band lying in the middle of the two green bands. The green color in the flag of Nigeria stands for the lush green forests and agricultural wealth of the country. The white band represents peace and unity prevailing in Nigeria.
