?@?@The PLA Daily, which started its publication on January 1, 1956, is the official newspaper of the Central Military Commission. On October 1, 1999, forty-three years after its first publication, the PLA Daily gave birth to its online version. ?@?@Under the direct concern of the Central Military Commission and the General Political Department of the PLA, the online version of the PLA Daily experienced a major capacity expansion and technical upgrade in 2004 and was officially renamed asChina Military Online on October 1, 2004, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the founding of the People?fs Republic, which also happened to be the 5th birthday of the website. China Military Online with its brand-new layout, will showcase a new image of the most authoritative Chinese military website on the Internet and a new friend to netizens.
