Vodacom Lesotho
Vodacom Group is a pan-African cellular communications company providing a world class GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) service to over 20 million customers (as at December 2005) in South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Lesotho and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Vodacom Group's shareholders include Telkom SA Ltd (50%) and Vodafone Group Plc (50%).

Vodacom Lesotho started operating locally in 1996 with the Government of Lesotho as a shareholder through its stake in Lesotho Telecommunications Corporation. When the Government of Lesotho began its privatisation process in 1999, it invited bids for this share in Vodacom Lesotho. In July 2000, Sekha-Metsi Consortium, a grouping of local business people and public figures, was announced as the successful bidder.

Sekha-Metsi holds a 12% share in Vodacom Lesotho and the remaining share is held by Vodacom Group.

Vodacom Lesotho offers the latest value-added services and products in order to ensure that customers are up to date with cellular trends.

Vodacom's coverage in Lesotho includes all major towns and settlements around the country. Besides Lesotho, Vodacom currently has operations in South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
