Aeroflot-Nord
The history of the Airline ÏAeroflot-NordÓ is the history of the civil aviation development in the North, itÌs birthday is considered to be November 2, 1929. On that day, an order of All-Union Society "Dobrolet" on the establishment of the Office of Air Line Arkhangelsk with a route Arkhangelsk - Ust-Sysolsk (Syktyvkar) was signed.
In 1963, Arkhangelsk was founded as Joint Aviation Detachment, which in 1991, was formed in FSUE Airline ÏArhangelsk airlinesÓ. In 2004, a JSC "Aeroflot-Nord" (OJSC "Aeroflot-RAL" owns 51% of the shares of CJSC "Aeroflot-Nord").
ÏAeroflot-NordÓ today is on of the largest air transport enterprises in the Northwestern region of Russia, and one of the 10 leading airlines in Russia by the number of passengers carried on domestic routes. In 2005 "Aeroflot-Nord" took second place among Russian air carriers on growth dynamics.
Airline "Aeroflot-NordÓ is a permanent participant of the Russian competition ÏWings of RussiaÓ: laureate of 2002, 2005 and 2006, and winner of the year 2001 and 2004.
During the recent years, the airline is expanding air freight volumes significantly going ahead of growth in the volume of work of civil aviation in Russia as a whole. In December 2005, "Aeroflot-Nord" has gone to the international level, the first Russian airline who joined the European Association regional carriers (ERA).
