Air Iceland is a dynamic company with firm roots going back to the early years of aviation in Iceland. It was formed by a merger between Icelandair Domestic and Norlandair (Flugf»lag Nor?urlands) with the goal of creating a flexible yet powerful airline servicing the West Nordic countries.

The head office of Air Iceland is located in the capital, ReykjavÃk, while the company's registered domicile is in Akureyri, the main town in north Iceland. Both ReykjavÃk and Akureyri airports serve as hubs for Air Iceland's route network .
