The flag of Anguilla comprises of a Blue Ensign with the British flag in the upper left and the coat of arms of Anguilla in the lower right corner. The coat of arms consists of three dolphins, which stand for friendship, wisdom and strength. The present Anguilla flag is the third flag of the Island. The island's first flag was widely disliked and was replaced by the Dolphin flag during its time of independence. This Dolphin flag had a banner of arms which is still found on the current flag and was white with a broad blue band, above which were three stylized golden color dolphins.The flag of Anguilla officially came into being in 1990.The flag has a blue field and the British Flag at the top left corner near the hoist side.
