The Antigua flag has an inverted isosceles triangle on the top edge with three horizontal bands of different colors. The sun in the Antigua flag represents dawning of a new era. The colors in the flag have different meanings. The red color represents energy of the people, blue is for hope and black represents African ancestry. The V shape stands for victory and the overall combination of yellow, blue and white represent the sun, sand and sea of this Caribbean island nation.
