The National Flag of Barbados was officially adopted on November 30, 1966. The national flag of Barbados is consisted of three equal vertical panels. Among those three panels, the centre panel is Gold in color and the outer panels are of ultramarine blue. A broken black trident is located in the centre of the Barbados flag . Blue color of the Barbados flag represents the sea and sky of Barbados, while Gold represents the sand of the island's beaches. The symbol at the centre of the Barbados flag represents the Trident of the mythical sea god, Neptune. The beam of the trident is broken which symbolizes Barbados' break from Britain.
