History
With the coming into force of the Belize Telecommunications Undertaking (Belize Telecommunications Limited Operations) Vesting Act on May 29th 2007 (the ÏActÓ), all of the goodwill, properties, assets, obligations and rights of Belize Telecommunications Limited have been transferred to Belize Telemedia Limited. All employees are now automatically employees of Belize Telemedia Limited with the same contractual terms and conditions, including continuous years of service, as existed with the past Belize Telecommunications Limited.

Belize Telemedia Limited is proud to initially be serving about 160,000 customers countrywide. This includes 33,000 fixed telephone lines, 120,000 cellular customers and 7,000 internet customers; in addition to our 988 public payphones.
The immediate plans for Belize Telemedia Limited are progressive and challenging. We will be upgrading our DigiCell - GSM cellular network, deploying a separate new wireless network to expand voice and internet services to rural areas and we will be continuing the development of our billing and customer care computer systems to provide more flexible and customer focused customer services.
The strategic objectives of Belize Telemedia Limited are to expand its range of services, develop partnerships, expand beyond the national borders as opportunities present themselves as well as improve customer service. This will eventually provide new opportunities, stimulate and fund the Belize economy and provide long term benefits for Belize as a whole.
