Our company

Budapest-Zeitung Kft. 100% privately owned here in Hungary. The publisher and Budapester Zeitung editor Jan Mainka has 12 years of experience as a journalist and editor with German-language publications in Hungary. From 1992-1999 he was a director and senior editor at Pester Lloyd, and established Budapester Zeitung in 1999. The Budapest Times editor Allan Boyko joined the company in autumn 2003, shortly after The Budapest Times began publishing. He worked at Canadian dailies, weeklies, magazines and news services from 1990 until coming to Budapest.

Our editorial policy

Our coverage is unbiased, independent and 100% to British/German standards of journalism, offering in-depth stories on politics, business, economy, social issues, culture and the arts. Our editorial team of includes respected journalists from international news agencies.

Our corporate philosophy

Budapest-Zeitung Kft. believes that its newspapers play an important social role in building a bridge between non-Hungarian speaking foreigners and the rest of the country. As the leading foreign language media group, we support and are asked to sponsor many prestigious events that bring the expat and Hungarian communities together, such as balls, charity events and conferences.
