About Expatica Expatica Communications B.V. is a born-global media company that began in 2000 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
It started as a news and information site for internationals and quickly expanded to encompass a much broader resource for internationals living abroad. Within a few years of its origination, Expatica also expanded geographically to include Belgium, France, Spain and Germany. Switzerland has recently been added to the list, with the siteÌs launch in December 2007.
Expatica reaches some of the most frequent users of international banking services, insurance, travel, luxury cars and real estate services. The average expatriate takes over 20 trips per year for personal and business travel, makes use of supplementary insurance and international financial services, and spends more on housing, leisure and education than the general population. Average household size is 1.6, with 67% married or with a partner. The average age is 35 with 90% of our audience between 25 and 50.
