How to Export to Ghana
Documentation and Destination Inspection

While a pre-shipment inspection is not required, a destination inspection is required for all goods, unless otherwise exempted. Each inspection requires a formal inspection request 21 days prior to arrival of the goods. This request must be accompanied by 2 copies of the pro forma invoice and a description of the goods to be inspected, including method of transport and quantity. In addition, Ghana requires 2 copies of the ÎGhana Special Customs InvoiceÌ (available through the government of Ghana); two copies of the commercial invoice and 4 copies of the pro forma invoice. While not required, the bill of lading and packing list are useful in expediting the clearance process.
