The Hungary Flag is a tri colored flag with red, white and green horizontal stripes of equal size. Though the current national flag of Hungary was in operation since the first half of 19 th century, the official declaration took place in 1957. In between for a significant period this flag was not in use as Hungary was under Soviet control. The proportion of the flag of Hungary is 2:3. The design of the flag was inspired by the ÏFrench Tricolore'. The green colored stripe on the Hungarian flag represents the feeling of hope. The red and white part stands for strength and fidelity respectively.
