Iran Air Tours - Iran Airlines

Iran Airtours, having a considerable share in supplying the needs of air travel industry, was established in 1973 under the auspices of Iran Air, the national carrier of the Islamic Republic of Iran , with the aims of expanding tourism culture through handling incoming and outgoing tours and operation charter flights.The company started its operation primarily taking advantage of Iran Air facilities and scheduled flights for its domestic tours, including tours to the holy city of Mashhad, followed by outgoing tours such ÏFlowers toursÓ and ÏRound-the-World ToursÓ.

After Islamic revolution of 1979 and the occurrence of IraqÌs imposed war, a server stagnation could be expected in the activities of the company. However with the endeavors of the officials and an increase in the publicÌs awareness, not only any halt was caused in the services, but also in order to neutralize the unfavorable propaganda and familiarize different nations with high Islamic values and the significant achievements of the Islamic revolution, the company constantly tried to fulfill its duties in the best possible manner.

During the years between 1989 to 1991, using Boeing 707 aircraft leased from Iran Air, the company took major steps in organizing different tours, gaining significant experiences in regional and international operations. By the end of the war, authorities decided to pay more attention to introducing the Islamic Iran to Other nations. So Iran Airtour held the first seminar on tourism in October 1989 attended by tourism managers and authorities of different countries who used to arrange tours into Iran and hosted the first incoming tours .The second seminar was held in the year after. Taking Part in international exhibitions including Fitur(Madrid), ITB (Berlin), Tokyo tourism fair and BIT(Milano), as well as increasing the number of incoming and outgoing tours gave Iran Airtour a special position in the air travel and tourism industry in country.

Based on valuable experience gained in the past years, in May 1992 Iran Air tour was commissioned by Iran Air to use the leased TU 154-M aircraft to support the passenger transportation in the domestic flights. In carrying out this duty and to train the required manpower in different sections, Iran Airtour chose the holy city of Mashhad as its operational base, commencing flights with two leased Tupeoves. Thus the holy city of Mashhad became a hub to connect thirteen different cities to each other. Direct flights from provincial capitals to Mashhad eventually led to a significant dorp in passenger traffic passing through Tehran, resulting in Saving passengerÌs time and money. From that time on , tours of Mashhad were conducted exploiting of these aircraft, and the first flight was made on 19/05/1992.

The independent Iran Airtour office in Mashhad was inaugurated in 1993, and the company succeeded in localizing different flight operation units and direct ticket sales office.
