About The Asia-Pacific Journal: Japan Focus
The Asia-Pacific Journal: Japan Focus is a peer-reviewed open source journal and fully-indexed archive on the Asia Pacific. Ranging widely across the geopolitics, political economy, history, society, culture, and international relations of the Asia Pacific, it offers regional and global perspectives on contemporary issues and conflicts. It provides a window for accessing current scholarship and analysis on critical contemporary and historical issues. In addition to articles prepared explicitly for Japan Focus, it makes available translations from Japanese and other languages as well as reprints of important articles and documents. The Journal draws on the contributions of researchers, journalists, policy analysts and writers throughout Asia and the world. Its website with more than 1,200 articles is a permanent and fully indexed resource. More than 4,000 subscribers receive a weekly newsletter linking to three to eight new articles. More than 200,000 articles are accessed each month at our website, and many more at other sites that reproduce these articles.

We pride ourselves on the rigor and speed of our peer-review process, with many articles posted in less than a month from the start of the review process, including revisions.
