Local Matters
Local Matters publishes three free community newspapers a month. Mahurangi Matters and Northern Matters are distributed monthly, whilst Hibiscus Matters is fortnightly.

Mahurangi Matters is distributed to more than 8000 homes and businesses in an area from Puhoi to The Dome, west to Kaipara Flats and Tauhoa, and east to Leigh including the Mahurangi peninsulas.

Northern Matters is distributed to more than 3900 homes and businesses from The Dome north to Kaiwaka including Wellsford, Te Hana, Port Albert, Ahuroa, Tomarata, Mangawhai and Pakiri.

Hibiscus Matters is distributed to more than 18,000 homes and businesses in an area from Waiwera to Silverdale including Whangaparaoa Peninsula and Orewa.

The papers are locally owned by Barrie and Anne Wood, who also own and operate Warkworth Print, and their partner Jannette Thompson, of Whangateau, whose family has lived in the district for six generations.
