Luxembourg Flag flagsoftheworld
The Luxembourg Flag was officially adopted in the year 1972, although it has been in use since 1848. The colors of the Luxembourg flag had been branded around 1830 during the Belgian revolution. The flag was designed in 1845. The flag of Luxembourg is inspired from that of the French flag. The blue color of the flag is very dark, unlike that of Netherlands. The colors of the flag of Luxembourg have been based on the 13 th century coat of arms of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. The coat of arms featured a red lion with a background of white and blue stripes.
