The national flag of Mauritius consists of four colors that are placed horizontally. The colors from upper portion of the Mauritius flag to the bottom are red, blue, yellow and green respectively. Red represent the bloodshed and freedom struggle. Blue represents the Indian Ocean on which the island is located. While the yellow denotes the golden ray of freedom the green in the flag symbolizes greenery and agriculture of Mauritius.
