Ministry of Education St. Helena
Welcome. We hope to provide information of all aspects of the education system of St Helena including: the administration, schools, teacher training, curricular and non-curricular activities. Our main offices are situated in a building known as 'The Canister' at the head of Main Street in Jamestown.
The Department is responsible for the seven schools on the Island, teacher training and library facilities. Please browse our site and visit some of our schools, meet some of the staff and students. We hope that your visit to our web site will be both informative and enjoyable and will give an insight into the education system of our unique island.

Our logo represents the first vessel named St Helena, a schooner-brigantine, built for the East India Company in 1814. The year 2002 was the 500th anniversary of St Helena:
