What is NewsRoo?
Conceived with Australia's million-strong diaspora in mind, the online news service Newsroo has been launched to provide an informative weekly summary of the most significant Australian news. It meets the needs of readers who are satisfied with international sources of world news, but wish to be better informed about Australian issues and developments.
Each issue of Newsroo summarises a selection of the week's top stories, with a focus on clear, concise and informative presentation, and provides links to full articles and other external resources. Features to facilitate discussion of stories by the community of Newsroo readers are in planning and will be added soon.
Although Newsroo is produced mainly from secondary sources, it makes a unique and valuable contribution to the Australian media landscape by allowing readers to quickly understand and focus their attention on stories that have ongoing significance, and by presenting a balanced range of perspectives that may not be covered by other individual sources.
