Olympic Aviation S.A, a subsidiary of OA, was established in 1971 by Aristotle Onassis, in 1975 it became a publicly-owned enterprise.
The companyÌs helicopters have a wide range of activities. In addition to transporting passengers, they are used for aerial photography and filming, for providing air coverage of various events, for carrying cargo and spare parts, for approaching inaccessible regions, for emergency evacuations on medical grounds, for supervising industrial projects, and for transporting VIPS and businessmen to any destination desired.
For many years, Olympic AviationÌs helicopters have taken part in investigations ‘f accidents, they have monitored construction projects (PPC), covered the Acropolis Rally, inspected the natural gas pipeline, etc. They have also participated in monitoring traffic on the Attica highway system on behalf of Hellenic Radio and Television, as well as traffic on the Athens-Lamia and Athens-Patras state highways network on behalf of the Hellenic Police.
Our internationally certified maintenance centers use their know-how to provide our helicopters with technical support services that are unique in Greece.
Olympic AviationÌs fully trained personnel likewise takes part in missions to coordinate air and land fire-fighting operations.
The particularly high level of security ensured by Olympic Aviation puts it in top place in the realm of flight safety.
In August 2004, the company was issued an Air OperatorÌs Certificate (AOC) to provide helicopter transportation for commercial purposes and medical evacuations in accordance with the European Aviation Regulations (JAR OPS 3) the activities of its helicopters can now cross Greek frontiers and extend to the neighboring countries of Albania, FYROM, Bulgaria and Turkey.
