Pamir Airways was inaugurated in May 1995 and is the first private airline in the history of Afghanistan to receive the AOC from the Afghanistan Ministry of Civil Aviation.

During the last two Hajj seasons, Pamir Airways played a major role in successfully servicing Afghan pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. Pamir Airways carried 9,000 pilgrims in 2004 and 15,000 pilgrims in 2005.
We are proud to say at the request of the Government of Afghanistan in 2005 Pamir Air provided A DC-10 plane free of charge to transport the Afghan Government's aid workers and supplies to the Tsunami victims in Indonesia.
A well managed and safe air transport system is a crucial component for the success of Afghanistan. In addition to empowering the Afghanistan infrastructure, Pamir Airways also tried to renew its AOC and starts to have an efficient role on Air Transport System. Pamir Airways will be also a benefit and an influence for other important economic development sections with the country, such as rebuilding efforts, economic development and stabilization of the Afghanistan's government.
Market research proves that there is urgent need for a well-managed and reliable air transport system in Afghanistan. Pamir Airways ambition is to provide an alternative to the existing air services which are filled with problems of lack of security, dependability, and efficiency. Hence, Pamir will carry the motto, "Fly with Confidence" and will be embodied by the entire staff. Pamir Airways will provide its services for Afghanistan by emphasizing secure and dependable Air transportation for people, supplies, materials and equipments on both International and Domestic routes.
Pamir Airways services include domestic flights in Afghanistan and daily flights to Dubai. International flights beyond Dubai will commence in the next phase of operation. Private charter service will also be available.
