Pinpoint United States
Communication: it is the driving force behind the Pinpoint organization. From local telephone service to dark fiber, Pinpoint is NebraskaÌs regional leader in applying communications technology to create economic opportunity for people and businesses.

In the 1990's, Pinpoint began as a subsidiary company of the Cambridge Telephone Company. Under the leadership of J. Richard (Dick) Shoemaker, Chairman and President, the organization has evolved into a dynamic and growing, diversified telecommunications company.

The company continues to introduce a wide range of telecommunications services while still providing the personal attention to the customer that is expected from a "small-town" business. Currently, Pinpoint staffs more than 40 employees, nearly tripling in size in the last five years and making it one of the larger employers in this region.

Wire line Telephone Services
CLEC - PinpointÌs wire line operations are rooted in the Cambridge Telephone Company, a rural telephone company that was incorporated in 1918 and serves the communities of Bartley and Cambridge.

Pinpoint continued that heritage when, in September of 2000, Pinpoint was granted authority by the Nebraska Public Service Commission to operate as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier of telecommunications services within the state of Nebraska. As a CLEC, Pinpoint now provides local telephone service in the communities of McCook, Minden and Oxford.

Long Distance - Pinpoint also provides affordable long distance service with a variety of home and business plans as well as 800 numbers and calling cards for your convenience.

Internet Services
As one of the area's leading Internet Service Providers (ISP), Pinpoint has expanded to more than 100 communities throughout the State. We have brought the World Wide Web to rural and outlying parts of Nebraska...and we are not through there. As ever-changing technologies emerge, Pinpoint strives to keep the pace. Now, not only can a person get a local, dial-up connection for their Internet service, Pinpoint has begun offering DSL (Digital Subscriber Lines), Cable Modems and Wireless Internet Service.

DSL - For those who may not be familiar with the term, DSL technology enables the transmission of high-bandwidth information to homes and businesses over ordinary copper telephone lines. A DSL line can carry both data and voice signals-even while the data portion is continuously connected. Using traditional phone service copper wires-frequently referred to as a twisted pair, digital data are transmitted directly without conversion to and from an analogue signal, allowing much greater bandwidth on traditional phone lines. The signal can also be separated so that a portion of the bandwidth is used for a telephone ÏanalogÓ signalÛeliminating the need for an additional phone line. It is a very reasonably priced service that delivers a huge amount of bandwidthÛjust whatÌs needed for the ever increasing multi-media capabilities desired by both home and business users.

Level (3) - In September of 2003, Pinpoint entered into an agreement with Level (3) Communications. Level (3) is a tier-one Internet provider with one of the largest network backbones in the world and will enable Pinpoint to deliver tier-one grade broadband Internet throughout rural Nebraska. This connection will enable the deployment of services that were previously available only in larger cities such as Omaha and Denver. Pinpoint believes that direct access to the information super highway will provide an economic development stimulus rivaled only by the railroads that stretched across Southwest Nebraska more than a century ago.

Cable Television Systems
In April of 2003, Pinpoint completed the acquisition of Classic Cable TV Systems' Nebraska properties. The eight cable systems purchased from Classic include systems in the communities of Red Cloud, Franklin, Alma, Orleans, Oxford, Beaver City, Indianola and Culbertson. Pinpoint also provides Cable TV service to Bartley, Cambridge, Stamford and Republican. In Indianola, Pinpoint now offers cable modem service as well.
Locations
