About Si.mobil

As the first private mobile operator in Slovenia, Si.mobil presented its services to the users in March 1999. Thus, competition started to develop in the Slovene telecommunications market. The prices of services and mobile phones started to fall, quality grew and mobile telephony became accessible to all users.

Among the customers, Si.mobil is recognized as an operator that offers quality services worth their price. It was the first in Slovenia to present and offer its users the GPRS, WAP and MMS services. It was the first Slovenian operator and among the first operators in Europe to enable fast data transfer using EDGE technology, later offering also broadband mobile internet through its own UMTS/HSDPA network. In addition to the basic services, Si.mobil also offers advanced services, products and solutions, such as the Si.Navigator - GPS navigation for mobile phones, the mobile office with the BlackBerry(R) from Vodafone service and mobile internet services.

Si.mobil has won numerous awards and obtained many certificates for its successful business performance. In the field of coordinating professional and family life, the company received the Family Friendly Enterprise certificate. Si.mobil is also respected among employment seekers who have recognized the company as one of the most respectable Slovene employers and awarded it as the Reputable Employer certificate. Si.mobil - Vodafone brand has also earned great respect and won the internationally acclaimed Superbrands award.

Si.mobil is owned by mobilkom austria, which started investing in the Slovene operator in February 2001, becoming the 100 per cent owner in May 2006. Si.mobil thereby became a member of the leading group of operators in Central and Eastern Europe. Si.mobil also signed a partnership agreement with the world`s leading mobile operator Vodafone, enabling it to present itself in the market under the Si.mobil - Vodafone brand and offer its users tested global products and services.

At the end of 2007, Si.mobil had 329 employees who worked on providing services for 497,300 users.
