Taxijet
Taxijet.org is dedicated to promoting the concept of a network of independent small partnerships who own and operate next generation aircraft as air taxis.

Taxijet is an innovative idea whose time has nearly come. With the synergies of a number of technological advancements Americans will soon be touring the country more easily and with much less expense than is possible today. We hope to position Taxijet.com as the premier facilitator of the future revolution in air travel. We will strive to provide top-notch coordination and assistance for charter companies, passengers and small partnership owner operators.

Just like home ownership is a dream of all Americans, airplane ownership, and to an even greater degree jet ownership, is a dream of all pilots. We hope to help propel the coming revolution in aviation by introducing pilots to a viable and lucrative alternative to the tarnished holy grail of the airline pilot career. Many good pilots are working as realtors or insurance salesmen because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and lost their pilot careers after 9-11. These pilots will eagerly embrace a realistic plan to put them into the cockpit of their own jet airplane. Our plan is not earthshaking, it is practical and it is viable because of the numerous technological advancements that make it so:

Aircraft manufacturing has improved and now incorporates assembly line processes borrowed from the automobile industry.
Small jet engine technology has advanced dramatically because of the government cruise missile programs. This technology has been made available to civil manufacturers of small aircraft engines.
Avionics advancements have caught up with the computer age and provide amazing capabilities at a very small fraction of the price of older systems while greatly improving accuracy and usability.
The FAA will be upgrading the air traffic control system in the coming years. These upgrades will make small airports open to traffic even in poor weather conditions.
Small airports around the country will support the small aircraft air taxi business model. The large airlines will fly more from congested hub and spoke airports while smaller aircraft will fly into small airports closer to destinations.
Long lines, security issues and inefficient schedules make an airline travelerÃŒs trip long and stressful while point to point on demand air travel provides a speedy and comfortable alternative.
Wealthy Americans place a premium on time and are willing to spend more money to save more time. Air taxis will sell them time in a bottle, with wings.
A shift in populations from cities and suburbs to rural areas will generate a need for travel to and from these growing communities.
The internet and the burgeoning mobile computing industry will allow Taxijet to make the connections between traveler and operator quick and easy for mobile professionals on the go.

Our plans include:

1. An automated online on demand air travel coordination system is online now at www.Taxijet.com.

This service, is available in popular handheld formats, such as the Palm/Microsoft Treo, Motorola Q and Blackberry for today's mobile professionals. The system sends passenger and freight requests to select part 135 operators via email. Once they have received the travel request operators will have the option to submit a bid for service, which will be immediately forwarded to the client for their selection.

Safety and customer satisfaction ratings and analysis will be an integral part of our service to help the customer make meaningful comparisons of operator bids. We will ask the Charterer standard questions up front and provide a way for them to write in any special requirements. There won't be any need to play "phone tag" to get all the questions answered. Likewise there is a short form for Operators to fill out so the Charterer will know enough about each operator and their aircraft to make apples to apples comparisons of their bids.

2. We plan to incorporate state of the art technology, such as www.flightaware.com into our strategy to enable "big picture" situational awareness to anyone with internet access. Aircraft tracking and communication will be available to operators and passengers alike so they can see in real time if the aircraft is on schedule and to allow for rapid response in the event that contingencies become necessary.

3. New means to reduce empty legs increase utilization of equipment and increase efficiency of pilots' schedules. Online listings of empty legs will be available to passengers using portable hand held devices so they can hail a flight while they are on the go.

4. An online networking log-book to help pilots find partners and investors is already in operation. Post your intentions to form an air taxi operation and you may find partners and investors living next door.

5. Online training and standardization for small partnership owner operators as well as immediate dissemination of urgent and important information.

6. A means for Charterers to provide feedback on their experience. This feedback will be made available to our partners to help them better understand the needs and desires of the traveling public so they can better meet the need.

7. A payment and accounting service to reduce the paperwork necessary for small partnership owner operators.

8. Scheduling and networking services to aid in the mentoring of private owners of Very Light Jets until they meet the stringent requirements of single pilot operation. www.MentorJet.com

9. We will do the advertising so small partnership owner operators can save their advertising dollars and still have a steady flow of customers.

10. Every effort will be made to produce an entirely automated service. This automation will make administration of individual air taxi operations easier so owner/pilots can concentrate on the core business of flying their aircraft.

11. An online, automatically updated electronic log book.

12. Provide or coordinate the provision of part 135 certification assistance for small partnership owner operator air taxi operations.

13. Provide relevant, accurate and up to date research to small partnership owner operators to help them make informed decisions about basing, pricing and strategies for success.
