Voice of Liberia
Vision
“The VoiceofLiberia Project sees the nation of Liberia where individuals, groups, and institutions live in harmony with respect for the rule of law, human dignity, and in economic prosperity.”

Our mission statement vows that "We will not rest until every perpetrator of the Liberian Civil War is brought to justice" to account for his/her actions.

Liberians made the ultimate choice and chose a new president in November 2005. The need to make available news and information to the masses remains a major challenge.

We will continue to strive in bringing you news articles, opinions, and commentaries about the nation's socioeconomic issues.

In supporting our mission, we will endeavor to work with pro democracy and human rights groups in shedding light on that which mainstream media ignores.

This is the time to expose all those who were involved, directly or indirectly in the destabilization of Liberia over the past fifteen (1989-2005) years.

What We Do
The VoiceofLiberia Project is an advocacy entity; comprised of ordinary Liberians, some victims of the 15 years cycle of violence realized the need to promote peace and justice. Sustainable peace can only be achieved when justice is administered without any form of favor or complacency.

During the fifteen-year (1989-2004) civil war, Liberians were reduced to a state of mind that inhibits hate in the minds of victims and revenge against those who carried out wanton mayhem against innocent civilians. The trauma and shock have left most Liberians scarred from the experiences and voiceless at the same time.

These people are the ordinary Liberians who were forced to abandon all that they ever owned in their life to flee into exile. Many others were forced into a cycle of displacement from one locality to another, while fighting raged.

Over these years, these ordinary Liberians have yearned to make their voices heard; they have struggled to keep hope alive that someday, somewhere, they can express their fears, their thoughts, their experiences of war and survival with their fellow country-men and the regional and international communities

We welcome opinions, comments, articles, and reviews as a way of contributing to the cause of achieving sustainable peace and justice for all Liberians.

Objectives
The VoiceofLiberia Project champions three Main Objectives:

1. To promote sustainable Peace and Justice

The VoiceofLiberia Project will work with national, regional, and international groupings in bringing to book war criminals of the Liberian Civil War. The chains holding together the system of impunity must be broken and trashed into the mighty lavas of the justice system.

2. To enhance the system of governance by promoting transparency

The history of governance in Liberia is characterized by corruption, embezzlement, and outright abuse of power by a few and protected clan. The VoiceofLiberia Project shall work with Community-Based Institutions in ensuring decentralization and the balance of power, while promoting accountability at all levels of government and civil society.

3. To advocate the respect for Human Rights and human dignity

The VoiceofLiberia Project will strive to give a voice to the voiceless by advocating the respect of human rights, and by defending the rights of ordinary Liberians.
