What began as a response to His Majesty's Government's call for the privatisation of the communication services in Brunei Darussalam has turned out to be one of the nation's success stories. Formed in April 1995, DataStream Technology Sdn Bhd (DST) has become a shining example of the Government's privatisation programme.

1995
Formation of DST in response to His Majesty's Government of Brunei Darussalam's call for privatisation of the nation's communications services
1996 DST introduced the GSM mobile system - preferred by more than 100 countries
1997 DST was awarded ISO9002
1998 DST awarded licences to operate Kristal Television and Kristal radio
1999 Fascom was incorporated and Easi was launched officially
2000 Kristal-Astro and Kristal-KRU were awarded licenses to operate. DSTCom achieved its 100,000 subscriber milestone. Simpur and Zippi , and SMS sevices were launched
2001 Baiduri Bank and HSBC started to provide mobile banking service in Brunei
2002 DST appointed as the official InfoComMedia Provider for the 7th GASEX 2002
2003 Sealed agreement with Alcatel for the embarkation of DST's Project ĂŽEvolution' on GPRS/EDGE system.
